Take Your Child To Work Day

The MiniPTeam (a.k.a The Bellas) joined us at PTWC on February 21st for National Take Your Child to Work Day! They helped the team with administrative tasks, cleaning up around the clinic, and laundry. We love having them around to participate in the daily activities of the clinic, and we thank you for welcoming them with open arms. We hope you all enjoyed having them as much as they enjoyed being here!

Neuroanatomy

On May 8th, Dr. Tischenko returned to her position as Professor of Neuroanatomy at Florida International University. She will teaching every week this summer, and we wish her the best of luck with her new students!

Dr. Tischenko got the wonderful opportunity of participating in the Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School Career Day on February 9th, where she got to share her love and passion for physical therapy and PTWC. On May 26th, Dr. Tischenko was asked to lead a Professionalism Lecture at Florida International University. Dr. Tischenko was able to share her expertise and knowledge with the students at FIU, helping them grow as professionals and readying them for their future positions.

Hurricane Milton Blows Through 

As you all know, Hurricane Milton is quickly approaching the state of Florida.

Physical Therapy & Wellness Center continues to closely monitor the path of the hurricane, which has maximum winds of 175 mph and is currently located approximately 750 miles west-southwest of Miami-Dade County. Though the storm is expected to weaken slightly before making landfall, its size will double, significantly expanding its impact area. This means that even regions far from the storm’s direct path (like South Miami) will likely experience the effects.

As we face the approaching hurricane together, we want you to know that our hearts are with you. Many of you have family and properties in the areas that will be directly impacted, and just know that you are on our minds.

Indegenous People's Day

On Indigenous Peoples Day, we take a moment to honor and recognize the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous communities. It's a time to reflect on the resilience and strength of Native peoples and to acknowledge their lasting impact on our society.

With your help, we were able to collect 10, 376 diapers!
