Dr. Valentina Briceño Faria is a distinguished healthcare professional with a passion for enhancing lives through therapeutic intervention. With a diverse academic background and a relentless commitment to excellence, she has carved a unique path in the field of Physical Therapy.

Dr. Briceño’s journey began at Florida International University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy. During this time, she developed a profound understanding of the positive impact of recreational activities on physical and emotional well-being. Her dedication to promoting holistic healing laid the foundation for her future pursuits.

Dr. Briceño’s thirst for knowledge then led her to the University of Miami, where she obtained a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, marked by groundbreaking research in “Management of a Professional Tennis Player with Female Athlete Triad,” and where she was honored as a recipient of the prestigious Chair’s Award.

Wanting to continue to perfect her craft and broaden her horizons, Dr. Briceño pursued a Master’s Degree in Sports Injury and Re-adaptation at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. Immersing herself in the rich culture of Europe, she not only gained expertise in managing sports-related injuries but also absorbed a global perspective on healthcare practices.

Her multidisciplinary background, spanning recreational therapy, sports injury rehabilitation, and physical therapy, reflects her exceptional dedication and contributions to the field.

Dr. Briceño is now also sharing her expertise as an assistant professor at her alma mater, the University of Miami, where she teaches musculoskeletal and clinical skills classes.

Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. Briceño is a compassionate advocate for patients’ well-being, with a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of body and mind. Her patient-centered approach, coupled with her extensive training, empowers her to tailor interventions that address the unique needs of each individual.

She has been working for Physical Therapy and Wellness Center since 2016, where she began her journey as a volunteer, quickly became a key member of the administrative team, and later joined as a Physical Therapist. Her areas of expertise include sports injuries, orthopedics, complex and chronic conditions, back pain, neuromuscular re-education, and wellness prevention.
